Pakistan Muslim League President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and National Security Council Secretary Tariq Aziz met Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz here on Tuesday and discussed the overall political situation in the country and the situation in Balochistan. Shujaat Hussain briefed the Prime Minister about the progress of negotiations and initiatives taken by him for the resolution of the issue in Balochistan.

While appreciating the efforts and initiatives of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain for the resolution of the issues in Balochistan, the prime minister said it was government's desire that the issue should be resolved through negotiation and dialogue.

The government was providing maximum resources and funds for the development of Balochistan on priority, he added.

The prime minister said that with the resolution of the issues, the process of development will be accelerated for the socio-economic welfare of the people of Balochistan.

Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said that the social package being prepared by the Federal Government for the development of Balochistan should be finalised at the earliest and announced for implementation on priority.
